By the time you hear noise from the engine it will be too late for that engine. Tried a new sending unit with same result. Intermittently it will show low oil pressure on the gauge and the light come on.

My oil pressure has been fine, idle at 40 psi, 60 psi under acceleration. Where is the oil pressure switch on a 6.0 liter gmc. What my problem is that at hot idle pressure is dropping to 10 psi at.
